The Boondocks & Devilskin Light Up The Rock 2000 Live
Every year, New Zealand’s iconic rock station, The Rock, runs The Rock 2000 – the country’s biggest annual music countdown, driven entirely by listener votes to determine the top 2,000 rock tracks of all time. The event culminates in The Rock 2000 Live, a massive concert celebration bringing thousands of fans together to count down the final top 20 tracks and witness elite live performances from Aotearoa’s finest rock acts.
This year’s showcase hit a high note with stand-out sets from The Boondocks and heavy metal titans Devilskin.
The Boondocks brought serious momentum early on, delivering a gritty, high-energy set that proved exactly why they’ve rapidly earned a reputation as one of the country’s most exciting live rock acts.
Devilskin followed with an absolute masterclass in heavy metal. Armed with thunderous riffs, punishing percussion, and powerhouse vocals, the band tore through a massive setlist, celebrating 22 tracks in this year’s countdown and confirming their spot at the top of NZ heavy music royalty.
From raw alternative power to heavy distortion, both bands delivered an unforgettable night for the crowd and proved why local rock is thriving.
